Earlier visits

Jon Vigfusson visited Iceland twice. In 1971 he went on a bus trip around Iceland. On that trip he met a professor from the university. Within a few days she had found his first cousins Benedikt and Rosa (children of Vigfus' brother Benedikt).
Jon returned 2 years later in 1973 and stayed with his cousins. Vigfus and Benedikt had farmed together at Hlid before Vigfus immigrated.

John and his first wife Joan visited Iceland to meet family members living there. John and Jon's daughter Daisy Gudrun Sigridur Isfjord also visited Iceland in 1977.

Karl Magnus Kristjansson and his wife Helga Einarsdottir came to visit in 2004. He is great grandson of Vigfus' brother Benedikt. Jon visited Karl on both his trips 1971 and 1973.
